About Us!
Since its formation in
1908, the 1st Ivanhoe Scout Group has provided a valued
community service of youth development through the Scout Association. It
is recognised as one of the oldest continuously running Scout Groups in
Australia. We are taking an active role in helping to celebrate the
world Centenary of Scouting in 2007 and we will be happily celebrating
100 years of Scouting at 1st Ivanhoe Scouts in 2008.
Scout
Section meetings are held most Tuesday nights of the school term in the
Scout Hall in Norman Street, Ivanhoe. Cub Scouts meet on Monday nights
and Venturer Scouts meet on Wednesday nights.
The Scouting movement is a Not for Profit organisation
with clear Aims and Principles for developing youth in a structured
educational environment. As a community organisation alliances have been
formed for particular projects with entities such as Rotary, Lions, and
Mission Australia, with active participation in community events such as
Clean up Australia, and Anzac Day.

1st Ivanhoe Scout Group is proud to play such an important
role within the community, and
appreciates the generosity and support of both Corporate and Local
Business.
In Scouting members can
join at 6 years of age as a Joey Scout and continue through to 26 years
of age as a Rover Scout. After that much fun, they often go on to become
an Adult Leader. 1st Ivanhoe is also fortunate to have past members
nearby to help out from time to time.
Scouting is truly all about personal challenges and having fun.
